The Matthew J. D'Amico Memorial Foundation was created in 2008 in honor of Matt D'Amico, of Shamong, N.J., who died in a car accident in October 2006 at the age of 23.
The Foundation, a 501(c)3 registered with the IRS and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, seeks to support promising computer programmers, developers and software engineers, by, inter alia, awarding stipends to graduating high school seniors in the Lenape Regional High School District who plan to study computer science or a similar subject at the college level and making occasional grants to colleges and universities.
